Description
Our spring kit provides a 5.5lb trigger pull (down from 9.0+ lbs factory trigger). Simply remove your factory trigger and disconnector springs (#63 and #50 respectively on the factory parts diagram) and replace them with our application specific trigger and disconnector springs. Both springs in our kit must be used together. Gunsmith installation is recommended, but not required.
TIP: Many customers opt to also deburr and polish the working surfaces of the trigger components while replacing these springs; doing so will typically result in an even lower trigger pull weight and smoother trigger operation.

*Please note that for 2016-2019 Scorpion S1 models (pistol/carbine) there was a high rate of welded trigger packs. The retaining weld should be identified and removed prior to any trigger pack work. I got the scorpion for my 41st birthday. I was in between the sig MPX and the scorpion. A lot of factors weighed in for me, the overall price of the weapon, the price and availability of extra magazines, the ability to suppress it, availability for aftermarket parts. I chose the scorpion thinking the one thing I really don’t like is the trigger. I figured like most weapons a break in period would be required but after finding out that this weapon system is basically set up for select fire in the trigger pull weight is not something that will be broken down I was about to sell the scorpion until I found HB online. I ordered a spring kit which arrived quickly, it took me a while to replace the spring kit not because of the complexity but because of my disease multiple sclerosis. After installing it and dry firing it I falling in love with the scorpion. For $12 HB has fixed what CZ not only overlooked but for people like me probably cost them a sale. Getting this spring kit will make you enjoy firing this weapon.

This with a bit of polishing of the contact surfaces made a huge difference to the action. Now it feels much smoother and faster while still igniting milspec primers. The springs were pretty fiddly to install along with the 922 parts but overall not a challenge.

Essentially takes the trigger pull from 9+ pounds down to about 5.75 pounds. Don’t quote me on the exact poundage, but it is a drastic improvement over the stock springs. If the pull on the stock trigger is like trying to turn the wheel of a parked car without power steering, this kit just smooths everything out and makes this weapon easier (and faster) to cycle. Probably one of the cheapest/best initial upgrades you can do to the CZ Scorpion.

We all know the stock trigger on the Evo leaves a lot to be desired. This replacement spring kit seems to solve most of the problem. My Scorpion had a 10lb + pull weigt on it, and after installing this kit with a bit of internal polishing, it dropped to a consistant 4.5lbs. I also installed one of HBI’s flat faced triggers and the two combined create a more enjoyable shooting experiance. Because of the the HBI upgrades, I was able to improve the way I shot and saw an increase in my accuracy. This is a must for any Evo III

I snagged a used EVO 3 on impulse buy at my LGS – heard a lot of good things about them. Matching the interwebz information, the one I got had a crazy heavy trigger pull and the ambi safety digging into my hand was none too pleasant either. Instead of bailing on this impulse buy, I thought I’d give this a try and as others have stated this is night/day improvement over stock springs. With these 2 small springs replaced, the trigger is much more like the other sub gun knock-offs I have and very pleasant to shoot.
Installation is straight forward, but if you’ve never swapped out an AR or AK trigger group (as a starting point) you may want to pick up a half rack of beer for your part-time at-home “gunsmith” friend to help out. The video posted on youtube is well done and you can mostly figure out what to do here. The one thing I found – getting the long spring set under the front bar is a PITA and a non-starter with a flat screwdriver as the video showed. Use something to capture the spring completely (I used a roll pin starter from my AR build tools) so you can easily draw it down to the bottom of the trigger box.
If you are still running the stock trigger, buy and install one of these – you won’t regret it!

After shooting my Scorpion for nearly a year, the trigger had lightened up some already, so adding this spring kit to my order for the AR style safety was something of an afterthought. I figured it might lighten up some, but wasn’t expecting a night and day difference.
Watching the how to on YouTube, I installed the springs along with the safety and safety delete. For good measure, I did a little polishing too.

Wow, what an absolute improvement to the trigger. For the little time and little money it takes for install, these springs area no brainer improvement for your EVO. If you follow the HBI video, you will have a much smoother shooting EVO in less than 10 minutes. I am still astonished that it’s as good as it is now w/o having to buy an expensive trigger kit like you would have to for AR’s and other firearms. The trigger now goes a consistent feedback right up to a crisp break. No gritty creep too. It just feels like a different gun. It’s crazy that CZ didn’t figure that out in the 1st place.

The replacement trigger spring has a slightly larger diameter curve in it and is a thinner diameter wire. Combined, these two dimensions cause excess room in between the trigger case and the trigger housing. This extra room allows lateral movement and can cause the spring to walk off of the block lever leg. If this happens, the trigger is no longer functional until it is reinstalled. I put a washer next to the spring to tighten the fit into the housing and added a small notch to the block lever leg to help retain the spring. We will see if this resolves the issue. When the spring is operational, I was getting a 5.5lb trigger pull, much better than the factory.

Excellent video on how to install! And it made a great improvement on the trigger. Mine was welded and I didn’t order the drill kit since I have a garage full of drill bits. But like they say, it is a tough weld and mine went almost to the dang trigger housing. So I would recommend the trigger weld drill kit if you are in a hurry at all.
I have bought a few things from HBI and will certainly buy more. A great outfit with great designs. And great videos on how to DIY to boot!

Like the other reviewers, I’ve found that, for 8 bucks, you feel like you literally have a different weapon. The experience is so much better… not only lighter, but I took the opportunity to remove the factory CZ CLP, reapply a light coat of Breakfree CLP, and finally, a layer of Slide Glide to the mating surfaces…and holy sh*t, I now know what a custom trigger feels like- No grind, light, consistent pull… lovely, really… and all for 30 minutes of my time and 8 dollars.
HBI is *the* company for EVO upgrades. I can’t speak highly enough about their quality, tutorials, and service. Other companies should be taking notes.

I ordered the mini AK style selector a black trigger and the trigger springs. The Scorpion is a good gun, but not great out of the box. That being said, it should have come stock with all of these improvements. With these installed the gun is now better than great. It’s amazing!!! I own a lot of guns but this is for sure my favorite. Shooting it suppressed gets the Scorpion very dirty, but it cleans up nice. These all look like factory installed parts, and the videos are top notch when installing these. Great company. I will be buying more.

This is the first thing any sport shooter should buy for their Scorpion. One little heads up: The trigger return spring installs only one way, as correctly they say in the video, but it can then assume two distinctively different positions depending on how it tilts around the pin.
This goes for any spring in there, so not the fault of the product, but make sure the spring once installed looks exactly like in the video. If the long end has settled towards the wall and the short orange end is pushing towards the inside and the moving trigger floor, then the trigger will stick on release. I found out at the range…
I thought I’d add this as I took to the dremel to polish the hammer surface to ease things up, which wasn’t necessary at all. OK for fine tuning perhaps but no use for user installation error.
But again, buy this kit! I got the curved trigger from HB as well and the extended charger handle. Awesome kit, awesome service!

I agree with all the other posters: “BUY AND INSTALL THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!” Even if you haven’t even shot your new Evo yet. Just dry fire a few times. Installation can be tricky getting this spring under the firing pin block pivot arm. Watch their video a few times and use a vise to hold the trigger housing. I did it in a poorly lit garage without a vise! Wish I had a third hand. Results are spectacular! Not a Geiselle but excellent improvement. I think the factory uses the same trigger return springs for their A1’s so that would explain the heavier pull. BTW my new Evo (9/17) did not have a welded trigger housing screw!

Wow. Better than advertised. HBI is THE got to place for the Scorpion EVO lll. I have had this spring set and a flat trigger replacement in there packages for at least 2 months. I really thought the stock trigger was not that bad and I didn’t really want to mess with the welded trigger pack spring. Finally at 3 am I couldn’t sleep. Got the dremel and after 1-2 minutes popped the welded screw out and thanks to HBI installation video I installed the springs and trigger. Kicking myself for waiting. Night and day difference. I have just over a consistent 4.0 lb trigger pull. I did not polish the internal just the spring kit and trigger. Cheap and super nice upgrade to your EVO lll.

Huge improvement over the factory trigger, dropped my pull from almost 10lbs to just under 5. Instalation was simple, if you’ve messed with other fire control groups from ARs or AKs you’ll have no issues. I liked the idea of the wood dowel to depress the spring I even filed a tiny notch on the end of the wood tip to help the spring stay in the groove . I used a wood meat skewers I have for the grill. This spring kit is an absolute must for any Evo owner. My trigger pull weight went from 9 1/2 lbs to 5 lb 2 oz consistently. I wouldn’t want it any less in this type firearm.
I haven’t done a lot of trigger work, Glock, Ruger rim fires is all. If you follow the video, and have some mechanical ability you can change these springs.
I had the tail of one spring in the wrong place, but when I asked a question of HBI Pat sent me a photo of how the springs should be when completed. Easy to see where the tail went, and put it there. Incredible Customer Service.
I did not polish the internal parts. I don’t think it is needed. My completed trigger has some creep, but no grit. The spring kit alone lowering the trigger pull weight makes an incredible difference.

I installed this after doing a trigger polish. HBI’s videos were extremely helpful in showing how to disassemble the trigger pack, install the springs, and reassemble the pack together.
I wouldn’t say the springs make a “world of difference” just by themselves. It’d behoove any buyer to polish the trigger components and add a good trigger shoe. I ended up paring these springs with a Shooters Element trigger shoe (nothing against HBI’s offerings, the Shooters Element just had the geometry I wanted), and the totality of the work is what really took the Scorpion to the next level and made that “night and day” difference for me. I’ve been spoiled by Geissele and Anschutz triggers, so having a good trigger in any of my guns is a necessity for me. This kit absolutely helps take it to the next level. There’s no reason in my mind not to have one in your Scorpion.

I ordered their Theta Charging Handle, Theta FORWARD Trigger, Spring Kit, and Duckbill Mag Release. I LOVE ALL OF IT. The parts arrived in fantastic packaging. They were in their own labeled Ziploc type bag inside of a padded manila envelope. That envelope was in big bubble wrap and was inside a sturdy USPS box. Must do mod!! The stock trigger pull is horrendous and this alone makes it 10x better. If you spend some time polishing as well even that much better. Trigger was so bad that I immediately looked for upgrades with no luck besides $400 binary and felt nah, let’s just try this and see if it makes it tolerable. It literally should come from the factory like this! It dropped the pill weight almost in half and basically takes the thought out of the equation. Now I just shoot whereas before I’m like dam the trigger is horrible. Absolutely a must do.

Wow! The installation of all parts on the Scorpion are straightforward and this is no different! Installed it without any issues as well as the Delta trigger and it now feels amazing! The pull no longer feels like a heavy double action but feels like a proper single action trigger! I planned on polishing everything down while it was disassembled but all the working surfaces are perfectly smooth on my build already and after testing the trigger I don’t see much need to change more!

Overall, fantastic upgrade. Swapping out two springs really did make a world of difference. The end product provided a much smoother, lighter, and crisper trigger. I would still consider it a duty trigger so don’t expect a single stage, zero creep, 1.5# trigger that you’d put on a 500+ yard set-up. The only issue I had was getting the damn thing in. After wiping off all the grease and using a little block to prop the trigger group up on (no vice available), it took me an hour to install because of that red and silver spring. Putting pressure on something that is all sorts of slippery and loosely held in before you slip your pins back in was a pain.

This spring kit combined with the Theta trigger took my S2 micro trigger from feeling like a staple gun to feeling like a nicely tuned mil spec AR trigger. Installation from start to finish including teardown was under 10 minutes. I used the spacer included as I figured it’d be easy enough to remove and it functions flawlessly with it. So other micro owners may want to use it by default as well and just slightly back out the pin and use a dental pick to take it out if necessary. Less work than having to add it if it doesn’t work:) I’d pay $100 to have this change in trigger pull. In short: buy the dang springs and be happy!

This is the best $9 you can spend if you have a CZ Scorpion. These three parts (usually only two are needed) dropped the horrible 9 pound pull to just under 5 pounds. It was amazing, and took one of the biggest issues I had with the carbine and fixed it. The trigger isn’t amazing now, but it is much lighter and more functional. I was a little worried about light primer strikes even though the stock hammer spring stays. But I’ve put about 2000 rounds of 9mm through mine in the last month, WWB, Wolf Steel case, and some S&B which I knew had hard primers, no issues at all. This is the trigger pull the gun should have shipped with.

I tried wooden swabs and they kept breaking and was at the point of frustration, but in a moment of clarity, broke apart a wooden clothespin to hold down the spring and voila, done in 30 seconds. I took it out to the range for the first time yesterday, walked the iron sights in (red dot coming), and was plinking small steel plates at 75 yards. This… is a great gun and may be more fun than I have reloading time…

10 pounds is about the stock trigger pull on an EVO. It definitely drops it to 5 and with a polishing job on metal on metal contact surfaces it is a night and day difference. Besides dropping 3-400$ on a entirely new trigger assembly this is just a no brainer. How it should be from the factory.

Best purchase i made for my scorpion. I was hesistant about getting this at first, but after a bit of researching it was either me doing the trigger job with hb industries’ spring kit and their theta trigger versus sending it in to the cz custom. I am glad I made this choice. The trigger feels sooo much better, and I love my scorpion even more. Thank you HB Industries for these amazing upgrades. The installation was a breeze minus the hell of a struggle to get the trigger pack screw out because CZ decided to loctite the $hit out of it.. All in all, this is worth every penny. If you are a CZ Scorpion owner, this is a must. Upgrade now and get rid of the god awful stock trigger.

My only two complaints about the Scorpion Carbine was the pull of the trigger, and the ambidextrous safety. I ordered the reduced weight trigger kit and safety delete from HBI. The safety delete was very easy to install and immediately got rid of that trigger finger rubbing. The reduced weight trigger kit has made all the difference as well. The weight dropped from about 9.5lbs to right around 5lbs. I was a little worried about installing the spring kit myself after reading about how some scorpions have a welded screw. From my understanding CZ stopped using the welding method in mid 2018ish. Sure enough when I took the lower out there was no weld, just a lot of loctite (I have the scorpion carbine magpul edition). I watched the install video a couple times before attempting the change and got it done in about ten minutes. Overall great product, great install videos and great products from HBI.

Easy install. Drastically reduced pull weight. A few (3-4 very light) swipes on contact surfaces with 1500 grit sand paper and this trigger is smooth as butter.

Not much more to say than other reviews. I followed the video and swapped without a vice in about half an hour. Would have been much easier with vise instead of my plastic folding table, especially the shim I decided to put in just because “it’s there”. But it’s doable because well… I did it lol.
Definitely worth the 9 bucks. Around 5lb is likely accurate. I would say reset feels about the same as factory… still a little gritty feeling but I’m hoping that will smooth out with time (not that this kit claims to improve reset, just a side note)

Leaving this review as a warning to anyone else with a Manticore Arms bullpup kit for their Scorpion. This upgrade will cause the trigger to be unable to reliably reset so don’t bother installing it in a bullpup scorpion. Save your $9!
That’s not really the fault of the spring kit though so I’ll leave this as a five star review since it seems to be high quality and does exactly what it’s supposed to, so long as you have a normal Scorpion.

So I bought two of these kits along with the flat triggers. What an improvement on the accuracy and shoot-ability of this gun. Both kits were installed on the Scorpion Carbines. One of the carbines had a factory pull of 9.5lbs. The other had a factory pull that maxed out the Lyman Trigger Gauge at 13 lbs. From the factory, these guns were hard to anticipate the trigger release. After the install the 9.5 lb gun was now snapping at 4.7lbs. The 13+ lb gun is now snapping at 5.2 lbs. Both guns are shooting better. The trigger pull is perfect on both and very consistent. Just follow the video from HB and the install is very easy. Total time for the first gun was30 minutes. Once I had the first done the second install was quicker. Great product.

This completely changes the trigger. I’d say it took the pull weight down by ½. For $9.00 this is probably the best mod you can add to your Scorpion. I also installed the flat faced forward trigger shoe. The combo took this from a good firearm to a fantastic firearm. A MUST have!

Just a suggestion to anyone installing this spring kit, even if your assembly has the nipple on the trigger pack screw, before you decide to drill check if you can see threads first. Mine had it, but was not actually welded. This is one of the best upgrades you can do to your stock Evo and certainly the best bang for your buck. Plus, HB’s install video makes the installation quick and easy. Whatever you came here for, make sure to add one of these quality spring kits to your order. Took a minimum of 3+ pounds off my stock trigger.

I’ve had my Scorpion for almost 2 years, put a good 2000+ rounds through it so the trigger group grit has been pretty “smoothed” out, even so, this spring kit is ESSENTIAL. It’s fairly straightforward to install, the only PITA is getting the long spring end under the lever. Afterwards it feels like a whole new trigger, mine feels more like 4-5lbs now, and since I was able to get a deep cleaning on all the internals its SO smooth. I am very happy and I dont know WHY I didnt jump for an $9(!!!!) kit way sooner, this is 100% worth it.

The stock trigger on the Scorpion Evo is poor at best. This replacement spring kit seems to solve some of the problem. My Scorpion had a 10.8lb + pull weight. Upon installation with this kit and Theta Forward Trigger, the pull weight is between 4.4-4.6 lbs. I believe the combination installed one of HBI’s Theta Forward and spring kit brings the pull weight that is remarkable.

This kit is worth more than 9 dollars it costs in 2022. With the reduced weight spring kit you will be a little over half the factory pull. While disassembled, showing the contact areas a little polish love will go a long way too. The alternative is to spend 100s more on an aftermarket trigger.
I did not have a suitable wooden dial rod, initially, making the install nearly impossible without scratching something with the tools I had. Once I found a dial, it was still a little tricky to install the trigger spring components, but that’s how you learn. You only have to do it right once.
I also did not have any soft jaws like in the how to videos. I recently made some for myself and they really help out when doing work on the Scorpion. I would suggest getting/making a set to make life easier.

I don’t generally care much about the weight of trigger pull. When you’re at the range shooting you hardly notice trigger weight unless it is REALLY light or REALLY heavy. I was getting a replacement HB trigger and figured for $9 why not give it a try. I have to say I really like it. They also have a good video on YouTube regarding installation. It is pretty easy. The most difficult part was getting the trigger spring under the disconnect and then the hammer spring under and outside that. The method showed in the video worked for me. I recommend this spring replacement especially if you’re replacing the trigger anyway.

This was an excellent addition to my Scorpion carbine. Installation was really helped by the updated installation video (kudos to the guy in that) and the end result was an amazing improvement in trigger pull. I do think it would be nice if they included that wood dowel used in the video . I tried using some substitutes, and after breaking a variety toothpicks I ended up using small punch to hold down the spring during the install – but it wasn’t as much fun as it seemed with the stick. I added a Theta Forward trigger to get the maximum yield from HBI’s stable of parts and could not be happier with the result.

Installed this spring on my Scorpion 3+ micro. I watched all of the installation videos and read the forums so the install was done correctly. The spring continually crept off of the firing pin disconnector after 2-3 trigger pulls. As some had recommended, I put a ~45* bend (angled towards the trigger) at the tip of the long end of the spring as opposed to shimming to reduce the gap. The bend was just enough to sit properly under the disconnector while allowing for some movement. Went to the range immediately after and put 60 rounds through it without issue.
Excellent upgrade for a better trigger experience and for the price, well worth experimenting after fitment issues.

Upgrade part for my father’s 3+. I managed to install it with nothing but the 1.5mm and 3mm Allen keys, which was very nice since I didn’t have my gunsmithing kit at the time. Unfortunately, the return spring was unable to seat under the firing pin disconnector under the force of firing, though in no part due to the dimensions of the spring; it seems the heavier spring from CZ had worn down the finish on the disconnector and allowed the new return spring to slip out. Using a pair of pliers, I was able to bend the tip of the spring inward towards the hammer and still allow it to seat. No issues afterwards, and the trigger pull sits just below 5# without the absurd stuttering and lengthy/heavy break of the stock trigger. Would recommend this and the straight trigger shoe to every Scorpion owner, it easily outclasses every other blowback 9 I’ve ever handled.

As mentioned above this is the best $12 improvement you can buy. Take your time, watch the video all the way through once, and then start your work moving step by step with the video. While you’re in there I would highly recommend the Theta Forward trigger if you have anything above Med size hands. If you’re mechanically inclined, have a vise with some soft jaws, it’s not too difficult. The hardest part for me was the trigger return spring and I made a small notch in an old small slotted screwdriver to assist in pushing the long arm of the spring down in place.
I also added the Full size Safety lever on the left and the Safety delete on the right while I had everything apart.
