Description
The HBI 13.8″ handguard for the Bren 2 MS is ideal for 14″ barrel models in both 556/223 and 7.62×39 calibers. Our 13.8″ handguards are designed to truly “free float” the barrel and provide the operator with over 3x the support hand area and over 7x the M-Lok positions as compared to the factory Bren 2 MS handguard. PEQ-15/DBAL type IR sight systems and peripheral switches are easily mounted out front above your support hand thanks to a full length continuous 1913/picatinny top rail. Our extended Bren 2 MS handguards feature a window at the gas block that has been carefully designed to allow operator access to gas system adjustments while in use. The gas block window is bridged with a removable 1913 plate. With the 1913 plate removed, the gas block and regulator are exposed for complete disassembly and cleaning. This two piece design allows access to the gas system without having to remove the handguard shroud from the weapon. Additionally, the use of two countersunk screws to secure the 1913 plate means that sighting systems mounted the to 1913 plate WILL retain zero when the plate is removed/reinstalled after cleaning. Every handguard includes an integrated QD mounting plate system for seamless sling integration on either the left or right side.
Additionally, we are proud to offer a direct mount light variant compatible with Surefire® 300/600, StreamLight® Protac Rail, Modlite 18650 series, and other popular bodies. The simple and robust mounting design replaces a single M-Lok position with body specific mounting geometry for weapon lights. This light mounting solution offers the simplest, lowest profile, lightest weight, and arguably most rigid light body integration at no additional cost. If your application requires a weapon light, you might want to consider this option.

Picked this up and installed it asap. Great design and the lines flow with the receiver of the Bren 2 perfectly. ( keep in mind you will have to remove your bayonet lug on 14” models, the pin is easy to drive out but make sure you have a hard plastic headed gunsmith mallet cause the lug is pressed on TIGHT!) Zero wobble or flex so I’ll be throwing on my Perst 4 with zero worry. Just make sure you have a torque wrench for installation and possibly a heat gun. The bottom T25s can be slathered in thread locker. Easy access to the gas block is a great addition. Overall impressed.

Fantastic product, a huge upgrade over the OEM handguard offering tremendous more space. Very solid mounting platform. This size is a good choice for the 14.5″ Bren 2 – the barrel extends a couple inches. I actually installed it fine without removing the bayonet lug, and can still get to the gas regulator by removing the plate. Installing this handguard does require you to remove all the barrel mounting screws. Use the wrench CZ gives you and Locktite.

High quality, awesome, and lightweight handguards! Wish there had been some disclaimer about how insanely hard it is to remove the stock handguards without stripping the screws, but that’s not HBI’s fault. Just be careful! After the OEM screws are out, the install was extremely easy and painless. Truly a night and day difference over the factory handguards!

I bought this handguard to run on my 14″ Bren 2 almost a year ago. Admittedly I was a little concerned about their handguards at the time as I had heard reports that the handguard had some strange issues with the bolts that came with it. I read that if you overtighten them, it would cause the bolt carrier to bind in the receiver, while if you didn’t torque them enough, it would cause the handguard bolts to walk out over time. I believe that since then, HB Industries has fixed those issues with some new bolts and new torque specs, but ultimately I’ve had no issues with my handguard one way or the other.
The handguard is sturdy and has held up amazingly well after my last range trip! I tested how it held up by simply applying a bit of pressure on the barrel to see if it “flexes” or “bends” (since the bolts hold the barrel in place) and it’s still solidly in place! I really like the way it looks on my 14″ Bren 2, especially with a suppressor on it, and I also like the extra rail space it offers compared to the factory handguard! It truly makes the gun look special and complete to me!
My only complaint – and this is a none issue – is that I wish that they’d open up that crevice over the gas regulator a little more so that I can depress the gas regulator adjustment level without needing tool. That’s largely a non-issue as I intend to leave it set to one setting forever and rarely should you ever need to clean it, but it still would be a nice to have if they ever wanted to do a redesign at some point in the future. All in all, it’s a great handguard and it’s borderline a must-have for anyone running the 14″ Bren 2 configuration!

Nice handguard but I was disappointed with the light mount option, even with the handguard off it’s nearly impossible to mount the light, if you try and run the allen wrench through the holes on the other side the angle is wrong and you will strip the screws.
I even tried a offset mount and that won’t work either so I just attached an m-lok rail and mounted the light that way.
