Description

Do you need to remove the welded trigger pack from your 2015 or newer CZ Scorpion EVO S1 pistol/carbine? We have you covered. This kit includes the correct drill bit and a replacement screw. Please see the video below for a step by step tutorial on how to identify a welded trigger pack and how to remove the welded screw.

The drill bit that we supply is 1/8″ diameter, with a short “screw machine” profile. Similar bits *might* be available at specialty hardware and tooling stores, but typically this style of shorter bit is not found in the “big box stores”. Standard length 1/8″ drill bits can also be used, but the flutes will extend up through the pilot hole in the trigger guard, and you may run the risk of damaging pilot hole/trigger guard.

I ruined about 9 drill bits trying to crack the weld on my trigger pack, including two cobalt hard steel rated bits. Save yourself some hours and trips to the hardware store, just buy this before you try. After getting the bit in the mail it took all of 30 seconds of drilling to finish what nearly a dozen, now worthless, bits couldn’t accomplish

Worked like a champ – took about 30-45 seconds. Definitely would have destroyed the standard bits I already had. Definitely do recommend.

This product has been sold out for some time but I got it directly from MSC. Works like a charm with the awesome video to help. I would not advise trying to do this on your own if you are not comfortable with it. It is very easy to make a mistake. Love the drill bit and love HBI!

This drill worked like a champ. The collar on my trigger pack was welded much more substantially than the one in the video. The task took a little longer but this drill was worth every penny.
    Thanks

My gun is new and unfired, and first thing I did was order this and it was a breeze to drill out and swap the trigger spring.

Glad I got this. The bit was perfectly sized for the job and the replacement bolt fit correctly in the housing. The removal was simple with no problems and only took a few nerve-wracking minutes. I recommend you clean the threads in the trigger housing with acetone and use some blue thread locker on the new bolt.

Worked great and enables trigger spring relacement.

Mine was welded right as a drum. This drill bit made short work of the bolt head. A little oil in the bit and it was thru in no time. Save yourself the headache and just get this necessary tool.

I recently bought a used Scorpion and decided to get a Franklin BFS-III binary trigger for it. Trigger housing screw was stripped from prior owner, man was I bummed! Quick check of YouTube and I found the HBI video and learned of CZ welding these (WTF). I was a little nervous about doing this at first, but if you watch the video a couple times it’s actually quite easy. Just be sure to put oil on bit, start it SLOW, as in almost no weight or pressure when starting through hex head so it centers properly. I definitely recommend going through the hex end as suggested.

I have to say I’m very impressed with HBI products, the quality is evident. I heard nothing but good things through the internet and my experience has been the same. Thanks guys!

My trigger pack wasn’t welded, however I stripped the screw head when trying to remove it. No problem, this bit worked like a champ in a matter minutes. This took the guess work out of figuring which bit would work best and didn’t damage my Scorpion.

This was a pretty crappy solution to a minor problem.
So the bit is only deep enough to take out the screw head. After that youve got to use your own drill but..
But worse is the gouging and shredding of a 6mm circle around where the screw head used to be.
I’m no monkey with a drill and I know what I’m doing. But the end result is the mandatory search for a new lower trigger group on my new CZ Scorpion Micro before the trigger group separates from the badly damaged lower.

I would not use this unless you have a high quality drill press, a real bit of the appropriate length, and a back up lower.

Drill was easy to use, now on to the trigger spring.

Factory screw had to much loc-tite. Head stripped. Drill bit was perfect and replacement screw is much better quality. Following the video and a little oil on the bit while drilling made it quick and painless!! Well worth the price.

Just bought me the Evo 3 s2 Micro and will be ordering the new trigger spring kit plus this kit as well. Can’t go wrong IF the YouTube directions are followed.
Evidently the person who rated this one star did NOT follow the clear and precise directions therefore ruining his lower with the trigger group. He stated the screw head popped off. That’s it, you’re done drilling. Watching HB’s instructional video goes a long ways in doing the job right. Great product once again HB!!!
You guys provide some great products, true innovations and instructions making it so easy even a monkey could do it.

This is a must have and super cheap! As always, things never go as easy as I hope or the video showed. I don’t think mine was even welded but it was so tight, the head stripped rather quickly when I went to remove the screw. This drill bit was great, I went slow, took my time and tried to be very cautious. However, I kept drilling and drilling and still the screw head would not break loose like the video. I admit, my newbie ways caused me more trouble as I drilled through the trigger casing that holds the entire trigger set. I was so bummed, however I finally turned the drill bit a hair sideways up near the head and lightly tap the drill and bam it came off. It was then, when I got the trigger pack out I realized how bad I had damaged the overall casing for the trigger pack. Somehow, even though I had put an add’l hole made the original hole bigger – there was still enough threaded sheet metal to hold the new screw and everything works fine. I was able to find the part and might just go ahead and order it anyways just in case.
Final note, HBI makes amazing products – I have purchased many of their CZ accessories and am impressed by the quality. Hopefully, this review helps someone else.

Worked exactly like demonstrated in the video. I did not have a welded screw, but had stripped out the hex nut and could not get the screw out. Ordered this kit and broke off the screw head in less than a minute, then replaced the trigger right after that.

Worked just like the video showed!! Thanks HBI!
