I love the way the handguard looks on mine. I do wish these came with another barrel nut because I muffed mine up a bit trying to get it off. But other then that it’s super sturdy and feels amazing

No issue with fit on the weapon and color matches original FDE. Only issue I had was that the M-LOK slots at 6 o’clock weren’t wide enough for the T-nuts to fit through…I had to file some of the plastic in order to get an AFG to fit (slots on the sides were fine…no issues with accessory mounting).

Super easy install, great fit and very sturdy. Makes the Scorpion look so much better.

Installation was straightforward using the HBI barrel nut tool, and the fit and finish is excellent. Only gripe I have is that the stock front sight will not get tight enough on the rail for it to not move. A small gripe but worth mentioning since I only use iron sights at the present time.
HBI –
Thank you so much for leaving a review. In the cases like this that we have seen here (even with the factory handguards) it can be resolved by further tightening the front sight base. We think that it might be variance with the sights? Dimensionally the Sapper 1913/Picatinny rail is molded to mil-std specification.

Awesome product. Easy to install and changes the dynamics of the EVO completely. Much more comfortable to hold and looks B.A. (which is nice)

I love the Sapper. Has a great feel and finish. The weight is lower than the factory handguard so that’s a bonus. My only gripes are the 6 oclock mlok slots are not in spec. As someone else said before. My other gripe is, the sight plane appears to be off after install. It’s shooting low, even after adjusting the front irons all the way down. You can just eyeball it and see it’s angled weird.

I just installed this yesterday, and the results were really cool. It cuts a significant amount of weight off the front end, and the Scorpion feels much better balanced. The fit and the way that everything lines up is frankly amazing for what apparently is an injection molded part. Do yourself a favor and spend the $12.50 for the HB industries barrel nut wrench. My only wish is that this forend was made in a harder compound because it appears to mar pretty is easily but overall for the price paid how can you possibly complain? Very cool!

I love everything about the CZ Scorpion Pakse Sapper 6.4″ MLOK Handguard that I purchased BUT ONE BIG THING. The hand great but now after install my scorpion always shoots low. Even after adjusting my factory CZ Scorpion sights I am still shooting a little low. I am honestly not sure if this is something HB Industries is aware of or if maybe I just did something wrong with my install, but yeah, outside of that, it is a solid purchase to get.

EASE of INSTALL: I installed the Pakse on my scorpion w/flash can. Removal of the flash Can is very easy, removal of the barrel nut was tough – CZ uses enough loctite to tow a trailer – once off, however, the installation of this new handguard was VERY simple as long as you absolutely follow the video instructions. NOTE: a 7/8 socket , which I used, is just as appropriate as a 21 mm and You WILL need a sparkplug-length socket or the extended barrel but tool they sell here to remove the handguard on the flashcan version.
QUALITY: A++. It could easily be a factory installed item. Ignore any/all critiques of the materials used – this is a solid first class product worthy of range or service use. If it had the magpul logo on it, it would cost twice as much and be sold out for months.

Like all the other HBI products I’ve purchased, this hand guard is top quality and well designed.
The molded in the front hand stop is very sturdy and nicely contoured.
Don’t over tighten the barrel nut and you’ll get a lifetime of service from this product.

Installed easily, nice fit, looks fantastic. But I have noticed towards the front the rail seems to ramp up a tiny bit which is perhaps the reason many are having issues aligning their sights?
Considering the price and the fact that most of us will go red dot or similar anyways (I removed my iron sights) its not a deal breaker by any means at $50. Its a great value IMO at that price.

Great handguard from HBI. Please do yourself a favor and buy the barrel nut tool as well. The struggles is not worth the money saved.

Went with this because the aluminum one was out of stock in grey…Couldn’t be happier…the color matches perfect..Fits snuggley against the receiver and looks pretty badass compared to the stock hand guard..Keep up the good work HBI….Changed everything else out on the gun i might as well get a whole new trigger set up too..haha

Got the ODgreen handguard. Almost a perfect match to the original CZ OD green. Easy install and looks fantastic. Also great customer service from HBI.

Shipping was fast even during the COVID death plague. Barrel nut was a pain, CZ must own stock in locktite. I screwed up the install and tightened the barrel but too tight. Resulted in cracking the plastic. My fault for overtightening, as there is no forgiveness with the plastic. I’ll probably replace it with the aluminum handguard once the black 6in flat is back in stock. Free float seems like it would work much better. If you’re on a budget, this is worth it. Just don’t overtighten the MF like I did.

Great piece to upgrade your handgrip and minimize bulk and weight. Allows me to have a complete full hand grip over the handguard like I want. Don’t overtighten like the oem handguard and clean up the threads with cleaner and wire brush, makes install way easier. Pay a little more and buy the socket adapter from HBI to help with removal. Amazing product.

Matched up great color wise with my grey scorpion and looks amazing compared to the stock sloping cheese grater hand guard no complaints here
novakingwailk (verified owner) –
Looks cool, the grey perfectly matches my factory grey scorpion. Very light weight and smooth. Haven’t tried any MLok accessories yet, but this gives you a UMP look. Very cool. Especially since the factory handguard has lots of sharp edges.

Great drop in replacement for the Evo; it’s even lighter that the OEM one!
The design is very slick and extremely comfortable to handle.
Installation is pretty straight forward once you can remove the glued barrel nut.
I’d like to thank the Customer Service (Pat) for exceeding my expectations: they fixed an issue with no questions asked even if I’m miles away.

Love the look, love the feel. I was worried as I ordered it, that it would be cheaply made junk, but I’m happy to say it feels solid.
David Pavlu (verified owner) –
I like the feel/look of this handguard over the factory. Extends the front sight out further. My right side charging handle hole wasn’t drilled all the way through, which I had to fix. Also, you’ll find the handguard top rail doesn’t line-up perfectly with the top rail of the receiver. Other than those issues, I’d buy another if in the market.
Brian Green (verified owner) –
Looks great, QC isn’t there.
I installed this and noticed on install that the right side charging handle channel was not completely drilled out. HBI was quick to send back a new one with this issue fixed.
However, if you look at the rail it is bowed down in the middle. High in the front, high in the rear. The rear is actually taller than the 1913 on the receiver. After 2 of these, I am pretty dissappointed.. A bit of a bummer but I guess that’s what I get for cheeping out and not being able to afford the metal version.
Another note- the stock scorpion tolerances are not 100% and with these handguards that are secured with the barrel nut WILL ANGLE DOWN. It is how the barrel sits. My FSP was too tall and doesn’t zero correctly. This is not as easy to see on the stock handguard because of the short length of the rail. The drop is more extreme on this because it pushes out farther.
TLDR: QC is not good on these, went through two of them with issues still remaining. HBi customer support was good, but dissappointed in the product. Looks cool, not functional. 2 stars.

This handguard is not only lighter weight than the original factory guard, but it is also significantly more comfortable. Getting the barrel nut loose was an absolute pain until I borrowed the HBI barrel nut tool from a friend to use. Seriously, if you plan to get this guard, having the barrel nut tool from HBI is a must. It’s not worth the frustration to try and do it without to save $12.50. After I put the handguard in place, I tightened the hex head screws that hold the barrel in place as I noticed that when I changed the handguard, they came slightly loose. I’ve been waiting to write a review on this guard until after a trip to the range and now that I have gotten it in action, I can say without any reservation that I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a nicer replacement to the factory guard. Because the polymer is a little thinner than the factory guard, you need to be careful NOT to overtighten the barrel nut, as this can cause warping that I think is the source of some of the issues others were having when reading reviews. Once hand tight, I gave it another quarter turn with the wrench so that it is snug, but not overdone. The guard is perfectly straight and the top rail is level with the receiver rail. This also did tighten up the looser sling mounts which I believe may have been loose from when I noticed that fasteners holding the barrel in place were loose. The Mloks appear to be to spec and have no issues with mounts for pic rail attachments.

haundguard looks good and fits well, but the first accessory i tried to add is failing. i just wanted to stick on some mlok rail covers (type2) for grip, but i cannot get the center piece to go all the way in. i think this is as another reviewer mentioned, the mlok slots are not quite large enough. i am going to try an accessory that uses the mlok t-nut and see if i need to file the slots a little bit, which is not something i really want to be doing on a polymer handguard (or any for that matter)

Excellent quality and fit….the shipping was ridiculously fast…..would 100% buy from these guys again ….now THIS is how you do business ….ordered …shipped …delivered and installed…3 days start to finish

Very solid and a much better design then the factory one.
The one caveat for me is the OD green does not match the factory OD green. The Pakse color is much lighter. Not even close to the proper shade. So minus 1 star.
The longer sight radius, superior handling, and ability to mount accessories is great enhanced however. I also appreciate the lower weight vs the factory.
Otherwise a excellent upgrade.
I do wish they would have made the handstop slightly different it looks like it was added more as a afterthought.
I highly recommend the HBI tool it took me 2 minutes to install this hand guard.

I picked up this handguard strictly for safety. I am not used to a short handguard like on the stock Scorpion, and the angle at the front made my thumb want to slide toward the muzzle. Turns out that this is a well-made and great fitting product. I still can’t decide if I like the look better than the stock handguard, but my fingers are safe and that makes me happy. Easy to install, and I didn’t have any of the issues that others have reported with sight misalignment or trouble with the bottom m-lok rail. Buy the barrel nut tool…Just buy it.

Looks and feels great. Solid fit. Watch the video on install. I didn’t watch the video and I over torqued the barrel nut. As a result the grip is a little distorted and the 1911 rail doesn’t line up exactly right, but that’s on me..
Bryan (verified owner) –
Great improvement over stock. Super easy install once you get the barrel nut loose. Worth noting that that you will reuse the factory barrel nut so its important to have the right tool to remove the nut so you dont damage it.
Joe (verified owner) –
Awesome handguard. Not only does it transform the look of the Scorpion, but it feels so much better than the factory one with all the bulky picatinny rails on it. This one is much lighter in weight, gives you a longer sight radius, and is very ergonomic. Mine slid on nice and snug against the receiver and required no fitting whatsoever. The upper rail aligned perfectly, and much to my surprise, the iron sights stayed zeroed after reinstalling the front sight on the new Sapper handguard. Super happy with Pakse products (including their pistol grip) and with HBI for the great service. If you’re on the fence about it, just pull the trigger. You’ll be glad you did.

I’ve run this habdguard for a long time and I think it’s great. This should be the OE part in my opinion.

Fit was perfect on my install. Strongly suggest getting the tool to remove the oe handguard.
Looks and feels good, definite improvement over the factory piece.

Followed what the Guy in the video suggested so far so good everything was the way it was supposed to be only thing that gets me is the hands stop it’s molded in would Be nice if it would be removable so other accessories could be used ,. Other then that it’s what you get for what you paid for .
