Description
Our 15.13″ long handguards are designed to provide the best forward hold (support hand/arm) on the 16″ barrel variants of the CZ Scorpion Evo. Our “Full Rail” variant features a full length 1913 picatinny top rail. Our Lightweight (LW) variant shaves almost 3oz of weight (vs Full Rail) by removing a section of generally unused 1913 top rail, leaving just 2″ of rail for sights/lights at the muzzle. Pictures shown here are of a factory Scorpion 16″ Faux Suppressor Carbine with our 15.13″ handguard installed. No modifications have been made to the upper receiver, barrel, or faux suppressor.
All of our handguards are designed to “free float” the barrel and allow users to shroud any round suppressor body up to 1.57″ in outside diameter. Sleek and ergonomic, every aspect of each variant has been fine tuned for functional use of forward grips, finger stops, sling mounts, lights, and of course the widest compatibility of suppressor mounting types and lengths. Our handguards are machined from 6061 aluminum and available in a black hard coat anodized finish or black cerakote finish.
This handguard in not compatible with 2024+ Production Scorpion 3+ Carbines.

PLEASE NOTE: Aluminum handguards preform best with polymer charging handles (like the factory charging handle, or our Pro-Stock extended polymer charging handle). Aftermarket aluminum charging handles (including our own) can cause increased friction and in some cases may not run as smooth due to the aluminum-to-aluminum interface.

Absolutely Fantastic Product! the handguard installation is simple and it fit perfectly. No filing or adjustments to the factory barrel was needed and the mounting block fit snugly and securely. The handguard looks and feels fantastic. It gives the gun a much more solid feel without adding significant weight. Highly recommended!
Some other things to note:
If you have the carbine version of the gun you will need to get a barrel nut removal tool. I got mine from https://naahtoolworks.com/ but hopefully HB will offer one at some point.
I think this is mentioned on the website, but unfortunately the HB extended charging handle does not work well with this handguard because of the metal friction. I had to go back to the factory charging handle.

This awesome HBI handguard just made my Scorpion that much better. It gives me so many more possible hand positions and is much more comfortable to hold onto. I had a friend/gunsmith fabricate a barrel nut tool and the installation was a breeze. I also purchased the HBI polymer extended charging handle and they work great together. Thanks to HBI for making quality products for my new favorite gun.

Received the LW handguard this past Saturday with great anticipation. From the pictures I was not sure what to expect. My eyes deceived me and I did not expect the handguard to be as big as it is. Not sure why I expected anything different… I just did. Aside from my own misgiven expectations, the handguard is beautifully crafted. It feels just slightly lighter than the plastic handguard and certainly stronger. Took only about 30 minutes to install. Most of that time was involved in taking the fauxpressor off the barrel. For those who have this… use a strap wrench. CZ put a lot of loctite blue on mine and it took much effort to remove the “shroud”. Using the tool I also purchased from HBI to remove the barrel nut, which also took some force, the nut came off relatively easy in comparison. The handguard came right off with the but. Installation of the new handguard was very simple. I did not need to file down anything. Just pressed firmly on the trunion and it fits like a glove. My Scorpion was already beautiful and this handguard loses none of that. And it looks great with only about an inch of the fauxpressor sticking out. Now considering making it an SBR with an Octane to keep it the same length.
Hats off to HB Industries for making this great handguard and also for fixing my order. I forgot to order the barrel nut tool with the handguard. Went back to order the tool, paid the individual shipping for it as it was a separate order. Both items were sent in the same box and I received an email from HBI that they are refunding the shipping cost of the tool!
Bravo Zulu!

As a follow-up to my previous review on the HBI Handguard…
Finally got out to the range with my Scorpion, put 40 rds through and found that the handguard was slipping forward. Figured that I did something wrong when installing the trunnion. Was afraid that I put it on too tightly and cracked it. I reached out to HBI with my question of whether or not this would be the case. Phil responded and suggested (being as I live down the street) I bring the rifle in for them to take a look at.
Went in today and met Phil and Patrick. Patrick took a look, noted that I did not have it tightened far enough and proceeded to do the work right there on the spot. I mentioned a trigger click that was odd to me and he proceeded to take that apart too! I was there a whole 30 minutes and had my mistakes fixed on the spot!
Phil, Patrick, thank you soooo much for being so responsive in backing up your product! You guys are great!
As a note, while firing the rifle with the new handguard I was truly impressed by how well it fired and followed-up. Printed 1/2″ groups of 20 rds, the rifle (already easy to use) felt smoother with each round than with the stock handguard.
Moded my Scorpion with:
15″ handguard
trigger assembly
extended charging handle
duckbill magazine release
what’s next?

It’s a BIG YES for me… Function, fit and feel are superb. Lines match up perfectly and I could not be more pleased with the extra real estate to install the goodies. Wish I could submit a photo of completed build.

I have a scorpion bullpup carbine and wanted a full 15″ handguard to make use of all available space – much more important with the bullpup kit installed. Manticore doesn’t make their 15″ HG anymore so I was looking to get the LW handguard from HBI. At first they only had a version with no picatinny top rail, just some weight cutting slots, and I inquired into if M-lok would somehow fit into these slots. The CS rep said it wouldn’t work, but he followed up later saying that since several people had asked about a 15″ handguard with full picatinny up top, they would begin manufacturing that model and he mentioned it would be ready by the end of the year. Sure enough, I kept checking back and by December it was ready! I bought one and installed it using the carbine handguard tool also from HBI. The handguard nut was a pain to remove – I was really afraid I was going to warp the receiver with how hard I had to crank on that thing. But I got it off and was able to attach the HBI handguard, which has a much nicer mounting method. The handguard works great, and I’m really impressed that HBI was able to implement a new model so quickly to respond to customer requests. Overall, 10/10, thanks HBI, you guys have helped me out with this scorpion build so much.
